How to access a website’s traffic and browser they use?

October 10, 2010 - 8:31 am 3 Comments

I’m in a middle of a report for class and I need to figure out how to access a certain website’s traffic and know the type of web browser most visitors use to access this website.

The point of my report is to see how many use Internet Explorer and/or Firefox for a website. I figured to know this I’d have to access the website’s traffic data. I know several websites offer this for free: alexa.com, compete.com, etc. but they show everything on the visitors EXCEPT what browser they use to access it.

Any ideas on how I should get this info? The website people never respond to me :( So I’m trying to go around contacting them.

That would require some serious — and illegal — website hacking.

Sorry.

What are your thoughts on the Anti counterfeiting trade agreement?

October 7, 2010 - 2:23 pm 4 Comments

U.S. President Barack Obama’s administration will seek to aggressively enforce its intellectual property laws by putting pressure on countries that don’t shut down piracy Web sites and by requiring all government contractors to check for illegal software, the White House announced.

The White House Office of the U.S. Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator, in a 65-page report released Tuesday, said the U.S. government will also step up its efforts to identify foreign Web sites trafficking in pirated goods and will create a database of intellectual property investigations to be shared among law enforcement agencies. The U.S. government will also seek to protect U.S. intellectual property (IP) through trade agreements, including the controversial Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement, the report said. Several digital rights groups have complained that officials from the U.S. and other countries have drafted ACTA in secret.

"I say to those that are suffering from infringement, ‘Help is on the way,’" said Victoria Espinel, the White House intellectual property enforcement coordinator. "We understand the problems that you face, and we will work to make things better."

Copyright pirates and counterfeiters should beware, Espinel added during a news conference. "To those who have, for too long, abused the rights of American creators, I have a warning for you," she said. "We are committed to putting you out of business."

Vice President Joe Biden compared IP infringement to a theft where a burglar breaks the window of a store and steals the products inside. "Piracy is theft, clean and simple," he said. "It’s smash and grab."
Counterfeit medications and vehicle parts are dangerous and need to be kept out of the U.S., Biden added. "We just want to make it real clear," he said. "We’re going after people, we’re going after the Web sites, we’re going to go after those folks … who sell us things that in fact have the effect of putting the lives of Americans in jeopardy."

If other governments fail to shut down Web sites that U.S. officials have identified as dealing in pirated goods, the White House will be vocal, Biden said. "We’re going to be as public as we possibly can" about other governments that do not cooperate, he said.

The U.S. government will also provide training to local and state law enforcement officials on IP enforcement, and it will provide seminars and training programs for foreign governments,
according to the new report. The report recommends new requirements that medical products contain electronic tags to make it more difficult for counterfeit products to be sold.

The report, called the Joint Strategic Plan on Intellectual Property Enforcement, also encouraged Web content owners, Internet service providers, advertisers and other online businesses to work together to reduce copyright violations.

Earlier this year, the U.S. Department of Justice launched an IP enforcement task force, and in April, the agency announced 15 new assistant U.S. attorney positions and 20 new Federal Bureau of Investigation agents to be focused on domestic and international IP crimes.

What is on the air these days at FM 98.9 in San Diego?

October 5, 2010 - 12:35 am 1 Comment

Hello everyone in San Diego–can anyone tell me what is actually broadcasting right now on FM 98.9?
And has anyone noticed if traffic reports are airing there?

I’d be really grateful if anyone knows the answer to this. I know they were going to change at the end of August, but as I am not there and their web page is down, I can’t listen from here.

Thanks!

Well there are a couple

There is KXRV which broadcasts highway news and other songs… still fully operational.

KSOF which is still doing "soft favourites"

Attn: My Network Friends…Plz Help….Do you know about the laws and our rights?

April 22, 2010 - 12:17 am 2 Comments

Well its My sister who really needs your help…We live in the state of California/ county of Rancho Cordova. I told her about you all and how fantastic you guy/girls are..You all are some of the most educated and or well informed pple, Im impressed, I really trust that you guys can enlighten her as well as me about our rights, so if you have time plz use any resourses to find the answer as I dont have a computer and Im doing this on borrowed time…plus im not into webs so dont know where to search or how… Ok well she lives in some apts where kitty corner are some other apts which are run down, shabby and known for its drugs dealers etc…big high crime area, since it is hard to find a place when you dont have Identification cards etc…. the apts my sister lives in is one of a view who rent to mexican familys, It is mostly made up of illegal immigrant farm workers and thier families. these ppl are constantly harrassed by the police dept….My sister is American and her husband is a resident alien but his friends are all undocumented workers who work hard and cause no trouble to anyone, well one day some guy ran into my sisters apt because he didnt want the police to arrest him, i understand the cops had the right to enter because he ran. and he ran because he was afraid and he didnt want to be deported. ok well anyway yes the cops forced there way in and checked everyone out, they went through her drawers closets everything was turned over and unfortunately her husband and her son who was just visiting both had traffic ticket warrants and ofcourse they arrested them that night they have since gone to court arranged payments.etc…end of story. Oh by the way they didnt arrest the runner because he had nothing on record. Well my sister has a petty theft on her record thats it…and she is almost threw with In formal probation which they gave her at the time. she doesnt have a probation officer nor does she have to report to anyone,,,, well tonight she said again they ransacked her house and forced open one of the locked bedrooms. Ofcourse nothing illegal was found and both her husband and son were clear…but they wanted to check out the guys They know her husbands friends are immigrants and that they were inside talking and watching a soccer game…My sister says she was outside sitting on the bottom of her stairs talking with her neighbor while the kids played in the courtyard..then here comes about 8-10 cops wearing black with police written in yellow across there back they had just finished arresting many workers who were outside just talking and hanging out anyway when they were done the cops just approached her and acknowledged the fact that they knew shes on IN Formal probation ,by the way they were the same ones who came into her apt before and so they made thier way up the stairs the door was unlocked they came in with guns and made the guys get down,,,,they were checked out and all were clear….Plz note that they did not check my sisters id nor did they search her pockets, they werent interested in her although her being on informal probation was what they needed to gain entrance but the fact of the matter is that it was embarrassing once again they exposed her private victoria secret garments and other things so my sister is just so upset and i have no idea what to say to her and she feels so uncomfortable in her own home…Do they have the right to enter anytime? Plz check the difference between Formal and Informal okay….and how far can they go> do they have the right to take out her underwear one by one in front of everyone present and can they break down doors> dont you have to have certain kind of charges in order to look thru everything..we dont know but her petty theft was a result of what she calls it a crime of principle ( Target didnt want to exchange a broken item for iqual value etc…)but still she knows it was a crime that has haunted her to this day….Thats the story more or less and if you have more questions plz ask…..but plz tell us something so i can share with her…Why are police so rude???? If the police do have the right well then thats the price to pay for my sister hu> but do they have to be so mean and aggressive etc;;;
plz help thank you very much in advance….

You know irma in this day and age cops can do whatever they want to even if you are a legal citizen and have been your whole life because what it comes down to is your word against theirs and since they have all there asshole buddies there with them it will be pretty hard to go against them and if a cop feels there is something threatening him or his fellow officers inside any-ones place of residence gives them the right to break doors in if they feel there is evidence of any illegal activity going on in such premises all they need is just cause it’s called and this sort of thing goes on all the time in america even if you are white the only reason it is happening there like that to mexicans is because there are more of them then there are most races but say like you go to the south where a majority of the people are black then that will be the people you will see harassed the most and it really sucks because they always seem to concentrate on the poverty stricken areas because that is where so much drug and illicit activity’s are happening even though there are decent folk around there.
And so the best answer I can give here is for your sister to find a new place of residence.

Disable Nod32 Web Access Protection?

April 19, 2010 - 10:21 pm 2 Comments

After installing Nod32 (4.2) I noticed that Comodo Firewall reported all the traffic as "ekrn.exe". I searched and found that it is Nod32 that is running the browsers through itself. I don’t understand all this much, and from what I read on various pages, letting Nod32 bypass the firewall isn’t a good thing.

So is it safe to turn off Web Access Protection entirely? I already have the latest version of Comodo Firewall. When I disable Web Access Protection, Nod32 will still scan whatever comes from the internet in real-time, right?
