What type of Web site do you think would get more traffic?
I think the 3 type of Web sites which get the highest traffic are:
Porn, Celebrities, and online Games. How would you rank them in terms of traffic? Do you think any other subject can compete with these 3?
Well, you’re correct that pop tops it all… Here’s a way that you can kind of sort of tell…by just eyeballing it. Check out alexa.com’s top 500 sites. The first top 50, you have youporn.com, pornhub.com and livejasmin.com…within your three category, none are celebrities or online games. So that part is hands down. Seach engines, video/social networks, photosharing and filesharing sites are next in line. The next closest thing is miniclips..and that’s at number 273 out of a list of 500 top sites in the world. As a result that would make celebrity gossip last…
Basically, sex still sells…so if you want to have a high chance of being successful try porn. Look at http://myporndrive.com. They’re a fairly new site but because they’re in porn…their traffic jumped up 480% in 3 days? That’s insane. The point is…porn is a no brainer. You don’t need to have a degree to see that everyone likes porn even though it’s taboo to talk about it.
